The ABCChem Technical Programming Committee invites chemistry professionals across the regions to give oral and poster presentations. All potential presentations for ABCChem must be entered using the abstract submission website before the deadline of Monday, 18 September 2017.
Technical sessions for ABCChem will be arranged according to the four themes of the conference and all presentations, in both oral and poster formats, must address one of the following themes in order to be applicable:
All technical sessions at Conference will be held within Peninsula Convention Center at the Iberostar Cancún Hotel.
If accepted for a presentation, presenters should ensure that they are registered to attend ABCChem. All oral and poster presenters are required to wear an ABCChem registration badge during the sessions.
English is the official language of ABCChem. All presented materials and abstracts, in both poster and oral format, must be produced in English. No translation or simultaneous interpretation will be provided onsite.
Speakers in oral sessions should arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled speaking times. To avoid disruptions to the schedule, speakers should utilize coffee and meal breaks to load their presentations. Session organizers and other ABCChem volunteers will be on hand to assist with uploading.
Oral presentations for ABCChem are generally scheduled at 20-minutes each to include question and discussion time. Acceptance letters for oral presenters will denote the exact amount of time available, the date, time, and location of the session, and provide an ID number for the abstract.
Each oral session meeting room will be equipped with the following equipment:
Speakers may also provide their own laptops with appropriate VGA adapters or arrange for specialty equipment directly with their symposium organizer (at standard fees). Speakers should test this equipment in advance to avoid unnecessary delays during the session.
To ensure compatibility, especially for animations or video files, speakers should contact the symposium organizers onsite and arrange a test of the technology before the presentation.
Internet connectivity is part of the package for guests at the hotel and will be available in the meeting rooms.
Poster presenters should setup their posters at least 30 minutes before the start of the poster sessions.
Posters for ABCChem will be arranged in landscape orientation. Poster board dimensions will be 8 feet wide by 4 feet high.
Poster numbers as indicated in the technical program will be supplied by ABCChem and placed in the upper corner of each poster board. Presenters should seek out their poster number once in the session, and should consult their most recent scheduling notice for their final abstract ID.
All poster sessions for ABCChem will generally be 1-2 hours in length. Pushpins will be available at the poster sessions. Authors most remain with their posters for the duration of their scheduled session. All posters must remain up until the end of the session and should be removed within one hour of the session closing. ABCChem cannot assume responsibility for any materials left beyond those time limits.
If you need to withdraw your presentation at any time before the conference, please contact ABCChemProgram@acs.org as soon as possible to ensure minimal disruptions to the schedule.
